A Letter To My Future Little

My Dearest Little One,

I know we haven’t met yet, but there are so many things I have to say to you. I have no idea what you look like, where you went to high school, what town you grew up in, or what your dreams are. I don’t know your favorite color, favorite movie, or your celebrity crush. I have no idea if you prefer Nutella over peanut butter, chocolate over vanilla, or Coke over Pepsi. I don’t know all your secrets, or what makes you angry.

Your life is a complete mystery to me. We have never spoken, and I have never heard your voice or seen your eyes light up when you talk about something you love. We’ve never linked arms while walking in heels or belted out our hearts to “Wagon Wheel.” We’ve never talked for hours about absolutely nothing or danced around like idiots to our favorite songs in our pajamas.

But all of that and more will happen soon.

Joining a sorority can bring on a mixture of emotions and a bit of apprehension at first. That is normal. I want you to know that I will be there for every step of your journey–not just in college, but in life itself. Sisterhood doesn’t end after four years. It is a lifetime commitment. I promise that I will get to know all of your weird habits and all your likes and dislikes. I promise to know you better than you know yourself. I will be there for you any time of day, whether you need to vent, cry, scream, or laugh. You will never be alone. I will protect you when things get tough and I’ll always be there to dry your tears.

I want you to know that you are so incredibly loved, and you are entering sisterhood stronger than you could ever imagine. I can’t wait to see your face at our family dinners and laugh with you for hours about what we wore in middle school. I can’t wait to add your name to our family group chat and send you pictures of cute puppies throughout the day just because.

We may not know each other yet, but I know that when I meet you, I will know that you are destined to be my little, and that we will always share a lifelong bond of sisterhood.

With love,

Your Big
