A New ‘Harry Potter’ Theme Park Is Being Made Because We Just Can’t Get Enough

Hogwarts

There are a few things I really, really love.

• My friends, family, and the few select people I don’t act totally fake around.
• A large, hot, fresh-out-of-the-oven stuffed crust pizza.
• And, of course, Harry mother effing Potter.

Growing up, I was obsessed with the series. And not in an “oh, I read some of the books and saw the movies when they came out on DVD” sort of way. No. I was obsessed in the “wait in line for every new book and movie to come out at midnight and get a Deathly Hallows tattoo as soon as I turned 18” kind of way. I have the wands. I know the stories. I’ve picked out future pet names all based on characters of the book (hello, Sirius). And I’m writing this paragraph just prove to you how much I fucking love this story.

So, naturally, when The Wizarding World of Harry Potter came to life at Universal Studios, I was there opening week. Maybe it’s because I have no regard for money or the amount of hours I spend in line. Or it could be because I went to a shitty college in Orlando so going to the parks was a normal weekend activity. Either way, I’ve been to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (and Diagon Alley) more times than I should admit, just like any other self-respecting fan.

And despite all of the new stuff happening to the series, I sort of thought we were done with the theme parks. But, LOL. No.

According to Mashable The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is opening. Again. That’s right, Universal Studios Hollywood is now getting a Harry Potter world. Because if Orlando has it, by God, they’re going to have it too.

If you’ve been to the park in Orlando (and if you haven’t, you’re actually kind of an embarrassment), you’ll realize that this park is exactly the same. But hey, that won’t stop us from buying a very expensive plane ticket, to go to a very expensive park, to buy a very expensive piece of chocolate shaped like a frog.

The University of Hogwarts Cali is set to open in Spring 2016. Which give us just enough time to considering transferring to Hollywood to get our N.E.W.T.s in being nerds. Whatever. The no-maj muggle heart wants what it wants.
