'Clueless' Is Becoming A Musical And We Are Totally Buggin'

Cher Horowitz is every sorority girls’ spirit animal. She’s popular and uses her influence for good, her closet is to die for, and she gets completely and utterly confused when a guy she likes doesn’t like her back. One of us! One of us! Cher was only sixteen in Clueless, but you know she definitely went Greek in college.

Clueless came out in 1995, but 20 years later it’s even more popular now that the ’90s are making a comeback in fashion. Seriously, those little black choker necklaces are back in style and I’m sooo not on board with this trend. Whatevs, if it means Clueless is back, I’ll take it.

Time to pile all your besties into your Jeep and head over to Broadway because the movie’s original writer and director Amy Heckerling just confirmed that Clueless: The Musical is happening. Heckerling is also writing the script of the show, so you know it’ll be totally major. The director says Clueless will be a jukebox musical, meaning that the show will be filled with ’90s classics instead of an original score. You can definitely count on ‘Rollin’ With The Homies’ to be included in the production.

As for the cast, Heckerling hinted that a certain pop star was interested in starring in this cult classic movie turned musical. “Katy Perry has expressed interest, and I love her to death,” she told Rolling Stone, adding, “Maybe Iggy Azalea would do it!” if Katy Perry was too busy. Iggy made a perfect Cher in her music video for ‘Fancy,’ and now that her tour is cancelled because everyone suddenly decided to hate her, her schedule is totally free.

Think about it, Iggs. This could be your big comeback.
