Couple Tries To Buy Frat House Immediately After Trying To Stop Neighbors From Buying Frat House

Tom and Cindy Laupa — Not Lauper, no matter how badly you wish it were — actively opposed Greek life being in their neighborhood last year. Blah, blah, blah — they’re loud, and they party, and I’m trying to be a real person with responsibilities — whatever.

Now they’re buying a 91-year-old frat house outside Colorado State University which will house fourteen new frat tenants. Last year, a house on the same block, “faced several hurdles” in getting approved for fraternity use, in part due to appeals made by the Laupas themselves, which were ultimately denied, allowing Phi Kappa Tau to move 18 brothers into the nine-bedroom house.
So, if you can’t beat them…join them? Whoever moves into the Laupa’s house is destined to be the ultimate Phi Tau rival, because the actual houses will hate each other. The landlords and ladies will literally encourage beef between the two organizations (maybe? If we pretend this is a Judd Apatow film?) and I’m imagining the trees on both properties throwing apples at each other throughout the night, Wizard of Oz style.

If the fraternities get along, they need to stop it right the eff now. They need to organize dueling party weekends, and philanthropy events where they compete against each other, and hijinks all year long.

And as for the couple? That move is borderline cunty. But, like, in a good way, you know?
