Even Alexis Bledel Lost Her Mind When She Heard The Last Four Words Of The “Gilmore Girls” Revival Because It’s That Crazy

Unless you’ve been at Luke’s Diner in Stars Hollow for the past few weeks without wifi, there is no way that the topic of the Gilmore Girls revival hasn’t popped up on your newsfeed at least a few times. The Gilmore Girls series began in 2000, sixteen whole years ago, and introduced the now-iconic duo of Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory, named after Lorelai herself, because why not. After seven years of watching Rory grow up onscreen and wishing we had a parent as cool as Lorelai, the series ended —- at least until now. The revival is four episodes, each an hour and a half long, and spans each of the four seasons from winter to fall. I won’t spoil anything, but it will fucking shake you.

Alexis Bledel, who plays the character of Rory, recently went on The Tonight Show to discuss the revival and the enormity of the last four words of the new series. Again, no spoilers here, but please, for the love of God, go get on Netflix ASAP so you can start to dissect them internally like I am right now.

According to Alexis, she knew what the last four words would be the entire time that they were filming the revival, which blows my mind that she was able to keep it together for that long. I would’ve shrieked them as soon as Amy Sherman-Palladino (the writer of the show) told me, which is why no one ever tells me anything.

On top of that, Alexis also discusses her top four favorite characters from the whole show, which range from fast-talking Babette to mama’s boy Kirk, everyone’s favorite, well, everything, since he’s had about 10,000 jobs. Alexis also clarifies that the reason she’s holding that coffee cup so awkwardly in that one poster is because it was simply too large to grasp. I buy that, honestly, because those mugs are like soup bowls.

You can safely watch the interview without fearing major spoilers, I promise, but don’t. Finish the revival first. Hear the last four words. Then, watch the interview. You get to see a little more of the girl who’s Rory to all of us talking about the best show in the universe.

I’m going to go back and start the whole revival over now, so if anyone needs me, I’ll be in Stars Hollow where I belong.

My favorite things are tiaras, compliments, and free drinks, which are becoming harder to come by the more I tend to show up at the bar in sweat pants. The proudest moment of my life so far has been landing an actual, paying job that allows me to Facebook stalk people for a living. I tweet about my mom way too often, who is constantly trying to remind me that I'm not nearly as cool as I think I am. Please send me funny stories to read at work here: [email protected]
