FGCU Tri-Delta Turned Her Etsy Store Into A Business

At a time when most of us are just trying to figure out what we are going to do this weekend, Sarajane Evans is not only president of the Tri Delta chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University, but the senior also owns and operates her own business. Evans’ company, Sunny & Southern, allows buyers to “personalize everything from t-shirts to travel mugs to car decals” according to The Eagle News. Sunny & Southern originally started as an Etsy business during Evans’ freshman year, but the business grew to the point that she had to hire employees to keep up with orders, and led to her opening her own brick-and-mortar store in Fort Myers, FL in addition to her website.

For those of you wondering how the hell a college senior and sorority president finds the time to run her own store, Evans has an answer:

“In the past four years I have made sacrifices, some would say my college experience, to be where I am today. But I think, in other words, I have just made a unique one.”

She added that she does get a lot of support from her family, her friends and her Tri Delta sisters.

Props to Sarajane for being an amazing example of how to balance being a sister, student, and business owner. I’m in serious awe.
