Finding Your Soulmate Is As Easy As Answering These 8 Simple Questions

I always thought I would meet my soulmate in a vintage bookstore when our hands both reached for the same tattered copy of “The Catcher In The Rye,” we would slowly look up and lock eyes, and in that moment I would know that this is the man I’m going to marry.

That’s a nice little fantasy, but I actually just met him while eating lunch alone at my desk while looking up the nearest liquor store to stop by on my way home from work. Well, I didn’t technically meet him. But he should be contacting me at literally any moment.

A new dating website called 8^8 claims that it can match you to your soulmate if you answer eight simple questions. It took me less than five minutes, and the questions asked basic things like the type of person you are at a party. The website then matches you with someone who took the test and answered the exact same way that you did. Probability dictates the likelihood of someone answering all eight questions the same way you did is 1 in 16,777,216. That person, according to 8×8, is your soulmate.

Maybe your soulmate isn’t cute. Maybe your soulmate isn’t the sex of the gender you’re attracted to. But if they answer the same way you did, there is an undeniable similarity in your personalities. 8^8 describes a soulmate as “someone who thinks a lot like you do, like an identical twin probably would.”

So you might not match with a super sexy guy from across the world, chat online, fly out to meet him (in Greece, or Italy, or Spain. That’s where I think my soulmate lives), and fall madly in love. But odds are, you’ll match with someone who is just like you, and that’s pretty cool.

The test can only make matches when two people take the test and have the same answers, and as of now 109,928 people have taken the test and there have been 2,319 matches, so you might not get a match right away. When your soulmate eventually takes the test and the system matches you, you’ll receive an email telling you how to contact him/her.

Take the test here and see for yourself if you find your own soulmate. Meanwhile, I’ll be sitting here waiting patiently for my soulmate to introduce himself to me via email.
