GWU Greeks Make Asses Of Themselves When They Completely Jack Their Skit From DG At Chapman…And Get Caught

Oz

Airband (or Greek Sing, or Lip Sync, or Skit, or what-the-fuck-ever you call it on your campus) was absolutely the highlight of my year at school. I’ve seen countless skits of girls in black leggings and t-shirts doing silly dances to top 40s hits, and that, I’m sure, is fun. But at my school, like some others, it was truly a production. We had a group recreate Jumanji with a 12-foot tall electronic, moveable game board. Each time the girls “rolled the dice” before a dance, the pieces on the board moved the appropriate number of spaces. We had a sorority with a circus theme create moving freak show cages for the members to crawl out of. And my sorority (because of course, I’m going to brag) blacked out the stage midway through a performance one year, while the dancers, in all black, lit up like robots, leaving the audience staring at dancing lights.

It was incredible to watch, but mostly, it was incredible to sit back and think “We’re just a bunch of drunk kids trying to avoid class, but when we put our minds to it, we can put together something as amazing as this.”

Chapman is one of those schools — one of those schools where the Greek performances are simply mind-blowing. DG put together an amazing rendition of “The Wizard of Oz” in April. The girls won first place. Then, just months later, KD, SAE and Beta at George Washington totally jacked their routine…and not to mention, made asses of themselves.

Well, that’s embarrassing.
