How To Make The Most Of A Summer Rager

How To Make The Most Of A Summer Rager

After having watched a little bit of the awesome new series @SummerBreak (which you should definitely all check out, if you haven’t already), I was instantly reminded why I am, and have always been a summer girl. By every standard, summer is officially the best time of the year. It’s like a magical time capsule, where nothing matters, so everything’s better. The days are longer, and the nights are rowdier. No doubt, you’ll be hitting up some amazing ragers this summer, so keep these tips in mind to make the most of them.

1. Look Hot
Look Hot
Now is not the time to be dressing demure. Lena spends a good portion of the first episode of @SummerBreak in a bikini, and I say, power to her. It’s hot out, and no one is going to respect you more for being decked out in a ton of extra fabric. Your skin is tan, you look great, and it’s the only time of the year (besides Halloween, every themed mixer ever, and your birthday), where it’s acceptable to wear as little clothing as possible. It’s all about the short shorts, crop tops, and bikinis. Just think of it as putting your year-long liquid diet to work.

2. Show Up On Time
Show Up On Time
Feel free to redefine “on time” to mean “thirty minutes late” instead of your usual hour because if you like to flirt, like Nia, you’ll need some time to primp. Summer is the one time of year the party actually does start before you walk in, and you don’t want to be missing out on the action. I don’t know why, perhaps it’s just the fact that you literally do nothing with your days but sit around and wait for night, but especially in the summer, people tend to be ready to rage before the sun goes down and you don’t want a hottie like Kostas to get scooped up before you even arrive. Fashionably late can easily turn into unfashionably late. No need to spend extra time caking on the face that will later melt off anyway.

3. Be Up For Anything
Be Up For Anything
Summer is the perfect time to get wilder than usual, and you need to be willing to take advantage of it. Someone built a slip ‘n’ slide? You already have your suit. Late night swim? It was hot as hell anyway. Impromptu trip to a private beach? You betcha. Alex, the self-described wild child, has already shown us her crazy side with a little roof-to-pool diving at the summer kickoff barbecue. You have no other serious obligations, so nothing should be holding you back.

4. Do It Outside
Switch To Beer
You have all year to hibernate, and now the sun is hot and the atmosphere is hotter. What made Connor‘s barbecue a success is that people actually got a chance to enjoy the season we wait for all year long. Every girl loves to be able to work on her tan as she chats up a man, so I say, give the people what they want — but stay hydrated people, and don’t forget deodorant. Yikes.

5. Get Into Trouble, Stay Out Of Love
Get Into Trouble, Stay Out Of Love
Ray gives Zaq major beef in episode one of @SummerBreak for trying to build up a summer romance with Clara. Summer relationships never last. He might seem like the perfect guy when you mix in fun, and sun, and a romantic beach setting, but the only thing that’s perfect is the fun, and sun, and romantic beach setting. It doesn’t work in practice. Just view your summer romance like you the view the rest of the season – awesome while it lasts, but ultimately fleeting. Besides, summer is the single girl’s season, so you don’t want to be tied down anyway.
