It’s Okay To Be A Slut, Just Don’t Be Slutty

slut

Isn’t being a slut and being slutty the exact same thing? You wonder as you head down to the comments section to say something nasty before reading this column. No, my friends, it isn’t. There’s a fine line between enjoying having sex often and shoving your love for sex down everyone’s throats, and I’m here to help you find it. Sluts are still able to enjoy a normal life full of friends and happiness. Slutty sluts doom themselves a life that solely revolves around the prize. Don’t make this mistake. Unless you don’t care. Then fuck it, it’s your life and vagina, not mine.

Now before we continue, know that “slut” really isn’t my favorite word to use (it sort of makes me cringe). But for the purposes of this article, it’s going to have to do. Here are a few ways to make the most of your college, your sexuality, and your life, while still being respectful to other people and to yourself.

Set Yourself Some Standards

Don’t flirt with everything in eyesight. This comes off as easy and desperate and really not cute at all. But more than that? It means you don’t hold yourself to a higher standard. It’s important to really know what you’re after and not to veer from it. If you like tall guys who love their moms or funny dudes with skater hair, then that’s what you set your sites on. Don’t lower your standards or go home with the science buff if that’s not something you want. Don’t do it because you’re lonely or sad or want to get back at your ex. Do it because you want to, not because of the statement it makes. It’s better to go home alone than swerve away from what you actually want.

Now this rule can get tricky with one-night stands. Don’t get me wrong, every lady deserves her “let’s fuck and never talk again” guy, but this can’t be a regular thing if you’re looking for something more. Limiting your one-night stands is very important. If it just so happens that you’ve found yourself extremely attracted to the buff guy at the end of the bar, go for it. Fulfill your fantasy this night. Do you girl. Just don’t let it become a regular thing for the wrong reasons.

Know How To Present Yourself

Now I’m all for feeling yourself and looking your damn best, but don’t go overboard. Remember the “two out of three rule” where you should only expose two of the following at a time: tits, tummy, and thighs. So if you plan on wearing a skirt and crop top, that crop top better be high-neck. And if you wanna show off your goods, a nice pair of jeans could compliment that. Sure, you can wear whatever you want. But if you want to ooze sex appeal without falling into that annoying “skanky” category, this is the way to do it.

Never Go After Forbidden Men

Forbidden men include but are not limited to: your friend’s ex-boyfriends, your ex-boyfriend’s friends, your sibling’s friends, and anyone in a relationship. If you ever go after any of these men you are putting your love for sex before your love for the people you should care about, and that’s fucked up. Sex is great, but it’s never worth betraying or hurting those around you. Respect who’s fuckable and who isn’t.

Learn these few simple rules and you’ll be on your way to being the perfect “slut.” Your friends will love you for not being obnoxious and you’ll love yourself for respecting your reputation. Never be ashamed for loving sex, but don’t let your love of sex make you ashamed of who you are.
