Kappa Delta At Dartmouth To Get New $3.5 Million House

When you hear about a new house being built on campus, you probably associate it with fraternities. It’s not often that you come across a story of a sorority getting a new house.

The Kappa Delta chapter at Dartmouth is going to be getting a brand new house soon. They’re relatively new on campus. In fact, they’ve only been there since 2010. Since then, they haven’t had an actual house. Instead, they’ve been the only sorority at Dartmouth living in a residential hall. However, all that is going to change by the time the 2014-2015 academic year starts.

Construction of their new house is set to begin this September and is planned to be completed in July 2014, just in time for the fall semester. The Dartmouth Board of Trustees has approved $3.5 million for the construction of KD’s new house.

The house, which will sleep 23, is probably going to be pretty damn nice. Think about it: as another TFM writer put it, his chapter renovated their house for $2 million and it has close to sixty beds. What exactly is so amazing about the new Kappa Delta house that makes it worth $3.5 million?

I wasn’t able to find any specific details about the amenities the house will have, but I can only assume there will be plenty of room for crafting or whatever the hell it is sorority girls do when they’re not with us.
