Lady Gaga has come a long way since the meat dress. The last time we saw Gaga perform in a football arena it was last year at the Super Bowl singing the National Anthem and she. Slayed. It. She made us all proud to be an American in her all red glitter pantsuit, USA flag inspired stilettos, and killer pipes. Just ignore the red glitter eye shadow.
If you missed it the first time, be an American and take a listen.
Did you see that tear in Peyton Manning’s eye? Because I did. That National Anthem was so beautiful, Cam Newton couldn’t shake how bad it choked him up and consequently made the highly favored Panthers lose the Super Bowl title. Way to go, Gaga.
It’s safe to say that Lady Gaga would probably be a more entertaining show thanAdele, who was reportedly asked to perform and turned it down. Not that Adele is bad, because she can make me cry grown woman tears with one swift falsetto run, but in the entertainment category, Gaga’s theatrics leave us “Speechless.”
According to Billboard, Gaga’s people are in talks with the NFL to discuss whether or not she’ll be the halftime performer.
“We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show,” an NFL rep said. “However, at this point we do not have a final decision. We’re happy there is so much excitement about the show.”
Considering she called her performance at last year’s Super Bowl “one of the highest honors of [her] career,” we’re sure she would jump at the chance for some more “Applause.”.
