Lady Gaga just revealed that her fifth studio album, Joanne, will debut October 21st and it holds a lot of post-Taylor Kinney breakup promise. I think it goes without saying that some of the best artists produce the best music post-breakup. Whether it’s the desire to work through the pain or the high emotional energy, whatever gets created after a is usually fire. Lady Gaga is no different. Throughout her earlier years, her tumultuous relationship with Luc Carl inspired some of her best hits, including U & I.
Here’s what we know about the album so far. The album was named after Gaga’s late aunt, Joanne, who is mentioned in some of her other songs including ‘Dancing in the Dark.’ Joanna was very close to her father and her death has seemed to left an important impact on the both of them. She says Joanne will be “the true heart and soul of the record.”
The record apparently reflects her recent experiences of stepping out of the limelight and focusing more on her family and friends. Some of the tracks are named “John Wayne” and “Sinner’s Prayer” exploring her need to chase after the bad boys and eventually becoming bored with them. We also know that it will feature Gaga’s first single on the album, ‘Perfect Illusion,’ which appeared in promos for the newest season of American Horror Story. All we know is that if it’s like it’s anything like Gaga’s any other albums it’s going to be totally electric..
