Man Buns Are OFFICIALLY Getting Banned From Colleges

Man Bun

It’s here. The end is here. After months of not being able to decide if you loved it or hated it, it’s coming to an end. The man bun is officially dying. According to the Huffington Post, the popular-to-hate hairstyle is officially against the dress code at Brigham Young University’s Idaho campus.

From the school’s student newspaper, The Scroll:

The BYU-Idaho Honor Office has started enforcing disciplinary action against those with a hairstyle commonly known as the “man-bun.”

The “man-bun” is typically worn with hair shaved on the sides of the head with a top-knot worn in the middle.

“We would consider the ‘man-bun’ to be an extreme hairstyle,” said Tyler Barton, Student Honor Administrator. “It’s just something that deviates from the norm.”

Barton said any hairstyle that is different or uncommon would fall under this same category, therefore receiving the same action.

“As part of the dress and grooming code, we commit to avoid extreme hairstyles,” said Kevin Miyasaki, Student Services & Activities Vice President. “A ‘man-bun’ would be considered not consistent with this standard.”

So if you weren’t afraid of the man bun making your guy’s hair fall out (which it does), then you should be afraid of him receiving “disciplinary action.” And honestly guys, before you start complaining, think of all of the things we’re banned from wearing, and kindly STFU. My only concern is that by banning this look, it might actually become more popular. Fingers crossed that outlawing it doesn’t make it cooler, like when our dads told us we couldn’t date “that boy,” so we totally fell in love with him. Still, if you’re sad that the trend is dying, remember all of the other things that make guys hot. You know, things like,

  1. Beards.
  2. Or a nice set of white teeth.
  3. And a guy who likes to eat pizza with his white teeth.
  4. The ability to play an instrument.
  5. Or be able to rock an awesome air guitar.
  6. Jeans. White t-shirt. The end.
  7. That muscle v. You know the one I’m talking about.
  8. A guy with a Netflix password.
  9. And a profile just waiting to be created for you.
  10. A man with a plan unless you don’t like the plan then he’s totally willing to just do whatever you want to do.
  11. Chuck Bass.

Trust me, this is for the best. And hey, at least now our boyfriends will stop stealing our hair ties. Say goodbye to the man bun. It’s finally freaking over.
