McDonald’s Just Threw The Ultimate Shade At Starbucks

I feel like a traitor saying this, but McDonald’s coffee is actually pretty good. Wow, it feels good to get that off my chest. Starbucks is the king of coffee, but sometimes if the line is too long or I don’t feel like spending $6 for a freaking cup of iced coffee, I’ll go to McDonald’s. It’s just as good as Starbucks and it’s cheaper, but of course the one downside is that you have to actually go to McDonald’s. Yuck.

Fall is the one time of the year where there is no substitute for Starbucks. The only way to celebrate the beginning of fall and the coming of holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas is with a PSL from Starbs. That is, until McDonald’s completely shaded Starbucks by creating their own version of the PSL and debuting it a full week before Stabucks comes out with theirs.

Last year, Starbucks started serving PSL’s on September 8 so this year McDonald’s hopes to one-up the major coffee chain by bringing back their PSL a full week earlier, on August 31. The first day of fall isn’t even until September 22, so August seems pretty early to start sipping on some pumpkin-flavored shit, but I don’t even care because I love fall and if this means I get to start celebrating fall early, so be it.

Starbucks will always be the king of coffee, but if McDonald’s PSLs are just as good as Starbucks and cheaper, I might just become a regular this fall. After I take at least one Instagram with my Starbucks PSL, of course. .
