Miley Cyrus Named MTV Artist Of The Year And Nobody Is Surprised

Well everyone, Miley Cyrus has officially twerked her way to the top. MTV has named her Artist of the Year 2013, an award held previously by One Direction and Katy Perry. Miley killed 2013, being not only one of the most talked about artists, but one of the biggest selling pop acts as well.

From Contact Music:

Amy Doyle, head of MTV’s music and talent programming strategy, said Cyrus was an easy choice. “She dominated the music charts and critics’ best-of lists while creating some of the year’s most memorable moments.”

And by memorable moments, Doyle means:

•Her wardrobe malfunction at the Grammys
•Twerking on Robin Thicke at the VMAs, while wear a nude bikini and fingering her self with a foam finger
•Breaking up with her fiancé, Hunger Games star (and my future husband) Liam Hemsworth
•Releasing a No. 1 album, “Bangerz”, an album that Cyrus describes as “dirty south hip-hop”
•Swinging around naked on a wrecking ball
•Lighting up a joint on stage in Amsterdam at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards

Heck, the girl’s VMA performance was so talked about, the Oxford English Dictionary even put “twerk” in the dictionary. Is anyone really that surprised she won? Her publicist deserves an award, because we have literally have not stopped talking about this girl since freakin’ February!

Miley reminds me of that one freshmen who always has to be in the spotlight. “Oh look at me! Look what I can do! I can outdrink this girl! LOOK AT ME.” You just want to shoot them with a tranquilizer, because they’re so in your face and so needy. I will say, however, I sure as hell like listening to Miley’s singles way more than a freshmen girl’s screech. Miley, you keep on keeping on. Just be more mindful of what you’re licking these days, it may be hard to stick your tongue out if it’s diseased.
