Petition To Bring Back McDreamy On Grey's Anatomy Has Almost 100,000 Signatures Because People Are Going Fucking Insane

Shonda Rhimes, how dare you?

In case you haven’t heard the muffled cries and grieving, Derek Shepard was killed off in a tragic car accident on last Thursday’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy after starring in the show for more than 10 years. People are understandably pretty upset. I wasn’t expecting to be faced with such inexplicable tragedy so early on in my young life. Fans of the show are looking for someone to blame, and they’ve found a target in the show’s creator (and now, destroyer), Shonda Rhimes.

It’s not like this is the first time Rhimes has killed someone we love. She did it first with George, and then Lexie, and stuck the dagger in our hearts with the death of McSteamy. What’s McDreamy without McSteamy? We should’ve seen this coming.

Apparently this was the last straw for Grey’s Anatomy fans everywhere. They refused to accept the death of such a beloved character, and since this is TV and anything can happen, they want to bring him back. They want to play God and literally raise him from the dead.

A petition was created on Change.org to bring McDreamy back, and in less than a week, it already has 93,000 supporters and counting. The petition has a goal of 150,000 signatures, and once reached, a letter will be sent to none other than the heartless murderer herself, Shonda Rhimes at ABC. The reasons for the signatures tell the stories of broken women everywhere. People can’t eat. They can’t sleep. This death is literally ruining lives.

Shonda Rhimes, once hailed as the TV’s greatest producer and creator of the most iconic television show in primetime, has fallen from grace in one fell swoop. The author of the petition has a few choice words for Rhimes, and shares her reasoning for asking the show’s creators to bring Derek back in a long, and at times, crazy letter to the angel of death herself.

“Why would you do us like this? Dedicated and die-hard fans! We DO NOT deserve this!” said Courtney Williams.

Does anyone deserve death, Courtney? She is also upset that Derek looked so hot right before death, because apparently that is a thing people feel about the dead.

“Oh and don’t even get me started on how FINE you have him looking too! Its like you said, “we’re going to have him get as sexy as ever…then kill him!” You do not DO THIS TO LOYAL FANS!”

In perhaps the most insane part of an already insane plea, Williams compares the death of a fictional doctor to the death of a President, which basically makes Shonda Rhimes a terrorist.

It’s like you’ve killed the President of Grey’s Anatomy! The Fans are ready to serve you papers and charge you with the Patriot Act! You HAVE TO BRING DEREK BACK! NOW! IMMEDIATELY! What is Meredith going to do?! What is Zola and baby Bailey going to do!?!?!?!?!?!!?!? Did you NOT think about the kids?!

People have officially gone off the deep end. McDreamy’s death is making everyone crazy, can’t you see that, Shonda Rhimes? Bring him back. Restore sanity to the millions of women affected by this tragedy. Undo this mess, or face the death of your own career.

If you or someone you love has been affected by the loss of Derek Shepard, you can sign the petition to bring him back here. You should also probably seek professional help if the fictional death of a character is too much for you to emotionally handle.
