Pumpkin Spice Cheerios Are Already Available Because Summer Is The New Fall

fall

I’m just going to say it: fall is the best season ever. It’s also the most basic season ever, which in my opinion just makes it even more enjoyable. I will unapologetically be one of those girls running around in cute flannel shirts from Abercrombie and taking pictures of myself sitting on a pumpkin, and if you don’t like it, you can unfollow my Instagram. (But don’t, though. I post cute shit.) Do I mind that every single corporation in America loses their shit in fall and turns everything pumpkin-flavored, including some things that definitely don’t need to be pumpkin-flavored? No, I don’t.

That being said, transition is always hard. I like to ease my way into fall while still waving goodbye to summer. Sure, I know we’re all a little tired by now of our thighs sticking together from sweat and trying to keep our makeup from melting off, but summer is still pretty great. I wasn’t quite ready yet to let it go, but now, it’s looking like I might not have a choice.

There are already pumpkin spice flavors hitting the shelves, guys. I wasn’t prepared for that until September, or at the very least late August, but General Mills released their pumpkin spice Cheerios ALREADY. I’m not sure how to react to this. I want to try them, obviously, as a basic ex-sorority girl, but is it too soon? Should we all try and resist until September, when there’s an actual chill in the air and we’re not still planning beach trips? I just don’t know how I feel about trying something pumpkin spice-flavored while it’s still bikini season.

Then again, pumpkin is a short-lived trend. Maybe it’s best to just enjoy every bit of it while we can get, even if it is still summer. Okay, I’m in. Gonna go get my flannel and try a bowl, like, now. Change is hard, but let’s be real, waiting is even harder.

My favorite things are tiaras, compliments, and free drinks, which are becoming harder to come by the more I tend to show up at the bar in sweat pants. The proudest moment of my life so far has been landing an actual, paying job that allows me to Facebook stalk people for a living. I tweet about my mom way too often, who is constantly trying to remind me that I'm not nearly as cool as I think I am. Please send me funny stories to read at work here: [email protected]
