There’s a little bit of excitement that comes when your phone gives you an unexpected text message notification. Who is it? What does this person want? Most of the time, the message is innocuous: a friend asking to borrow a dress, a classmate asking to borrow your chem notes. Sometimes, it’s exciting: the hot dude you met at the bar asking you out, or an unprompted “I love you” from your adoring boyfriend. But occasionally, the message is one you don’t want to see.
