The First Teaser For “Fifty Shades Darker” Was Just Released, And Here’s Everything You Need To Know

50 Shades

Well, it’s happening. After months of outrage, disappointment, and confusion (despite actually being somewhat turned on), “Fifty Shades of Grey” is coming back. According to Variety, the franchise we love to hate (and let’s be real, hate to love as well), has just announced a whole bunch of stuff to get us all excited.

First, despite rumors (and embarrassed parents) Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will both be back for the next two installments of the series. And here’s 30 seconds of proof.

Okay so to be fair, Dakota Johnson isn’t actually in the trailer, but whatever. She’s coming back. It’s fine. And to be honest, no I don’t really know what’s going on there. Is it a metaphor? Do they attend a masked ball that I forgot about? Does it really matter as long as there are plenty of porn-like sex scenes in it? Who knows? Who cares? Because whatever it is, I’m pretty excited and lowkey turned on.

This time, however, they’re doing something a bit different with the making of “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.” First, the franchise is getting a new director, James Foley. Fingers crossed this will make everyone a bit more happy and a bit less uncomfortable. Secondly, they’re going to film both of the movies back-to-back, with a production start date of next year.

Which means that yes, release dates are already set. “Darker” will be released on February 10, 2017 and “Freed” will follow it with a February 9, 2018 release date. And despite how much we all bitched and moaned (and then really moaned, if you know what I’m sayin’) about the first movie, you know we’ll all be there opening night with some smuggled-in chocolate and our shower heads.

Hopefully by the the time these come out, however, Anastasia Steele will upgrade from a flip phone and that ’70s bush.
