The First Teasers For “American Horror Story” Season 6 Were Just Released And They’re Wonderfully Frightening

AHS

“American Horror Story” is, hands down, one of the best shows ever made. It’s scary, and it’s sexual, and it’s the perfect combination of “I’m so frightened” and “I’m so turned” on. For this reason, it is the ideal date-night show. Or laying-in-your-bed-at-night-with-the-lights-on-because-you’re-scared-and-can’t-sleep show. Or picture-Evan-Peters-while-you’re-under-the-bathtub-faucet show.

Anyway, it’s perfect. And this fall, it’s finally coming back.

Unfortunately little is known about the upcoming season. So little, in fact, that the logo for the next installment is ?6, which is just like a big eff you to all of us. After months of waiting and speculation, however, we finally have something to go off of. The show released a Snapchat with the much-anticipated teasers that always help to get us through the summer months. And don’t worry — they’re just as terrifying as always.

Right? RIGHT?! While no theme has been revealed (potentially the reason for the “?”) that hasn’t stopped fans from coming up with theories because everyone loves some potential spoilers. From Vanity Fair

Comparisons could be made to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, Rosemary’s Baby, and Village of the Damned. One fan even noted how similar the mobile in the crib teaser looks to the one on the cover of Brenna Yovanoff’s novel The Replacement, which tells the story of an inhuman creature named Mackie who was left in a human baby’s crib. Another theory? That the hand in the second teaser is Michael’s—the baby from Season 1.

While the show has aired in October for the last five seasons, it’s coming out earlier this year. And the only confirmed cast members so far are Cheyenne Jackson, Denis O’Hare, Leslie Jordan, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, and Evan Peters (thank God). With the release date set for September 14 we only have a little over a month and a half for answers or just a hell of a lot of suspense. AHS, you kill me. Season 6 is set to haunt your dreams on Wednesdays on FX at at 10 p.m. ET.
