There’s A Cat Sanctuary You Can Visit In Hawaii And It’s Called The “Furr Seasons”

If you love cats and Hawaii, I’ve just found your next vacation spot. The tiny Hawaiian island called Lanai is home to breath-taking beaches, white sand, and a 25,000-square-foot cat sanctuary filled with 495 cats just waiting to be pet and rubbed. A beach vacation plus all the cat cuddles your heart desires? BRB, booking a flight to Hawaii.

The cat sanctuary is appropriately called the “Furr Seasons,” which basically means this place is the epitome of cat luxury. The cats that call this place home are uncaged and allowed to run, jump, lay, and roam the property completely free. Sounds like luxury to me. They’re all up for adoption, so I wouldn’t suggest going unless you’re ready to take one home or you have really, really strong willpower.

Aloha Saturday everyone! Have a great weekend!

I'm a giant cat! Who likes the generous little water guy that hangs out in my garden?

This place is an oasis for cats and cat lovers alike, but if you do plan on making a visit to the kitties, you might want to plan your trip to the Furr Seasons ahead of time. This cat heaven is only open to the public for a few hours every day. It is a cat sanctuary, after all, and the cats need time to roam free and do cat things with their friends without silly humans trying to love on them.

If a beach vacation isn’t in the cards for you right now, or you do end up visiting the Furr Seasons but find that you can’t take your favorite cat home with you, you can always sponsor one of the cats at the sanctuary through its “adopt in place” program.

And don’t worry — if the cats in this sanctuary never get adopted, they’re allowed to live freely on this property until the end of their days. It really is cat heaven.
