These “Traditional” Thanksgiving Recipes Are Only A Tradition In Your State

United States Of Turkey

Ladies, Thanksgiving is almost upon us. Arguably the greatest culinary holiday will soon barge through our doors, throw both our kitchens and waistlines into disarray, and gently lull us to sleep–only to rudely awake us at 4 a.m. with the alarm we set to go Black Friday shopping with our mom. While some are more than content to go be “outdoorsy” and “healthy” and run races on Turkey Day, the rest of us are content to sit our fat asses on a couch and watch overinflated balloons float down Sixth Avenue, all while realizing that by the end of the day, we’ll look more like those balloons than our normal selves.

If you have a Thanksgiving dinner to plan or you have a new boyfriend or girlfriend to impress and you don’t want to just show up to his or her dinner with a five-pound tray of baked ziti, maybe take a look at this handy article from The New York Times, which features the favorite Thanksgiving recipes from each of the United States, plus D.C. and Puerto Rico. Take a look and see what your state’s favorite Thanksgiving dish is.
