This App Will Literally Make College Last Forever

It doesn’t matter how old you get, everyone will forever tell you that college is the best four years of your life. You meet the most incredible people of your life. For the first time in your life, you form true, real, deep connections with people in ways you didn’t even know were possible. It’s like every day, you’re looking around feeling like you’re living a real life movie montage of laughter, and inside jokes, and study nights that turn into late-night binges, and coffee dates that turn into three-hour conversations about first kisses. And the time seems to fly by just as quickly as that movie montage. The only downside of college is that it goes by too fast. Time is fleeting, and you can look back on the memories, but you’ll never be here, in this moment again, and with graduation right around the corner, it’s almost too much to bare.

But imagine if you could capture these moments and send them into the future? Imagine if your little could remind you how much she loves you, right now, right as you’re picking her up from the Sigma Chi house…in twenty years. What if the feelings, the messages, and the moments you’re experiencing right now were eternal? What if I told you they already are? Your moments, as of right now, can last forever, or at least for the next twenty-five years, thanks to Incubate, the new social media app that allows you to send video, photos, or text messages up to twenty-five years into the future.

Say, it’s your big’s graduation, and you want to give her a way to celebrate every year for the next 25 years. You go into the app, set up your twenty-five messages because you’re a fucking stalker, and set the date and time you want her to receive them. She’ll get a notification that someone has sent her an Incubate, but she won’t know when it will be available for her to view or who sent it — except she will probably know that you sent it, because you’re the only one weird enough to send her 25 messages at once. Then, every year on the day of your choosing, she’ll have a personal message from you letting her know how much you love her.

Incubate

This is already blowing up at tons of schools and in the wedding community. Nice little messages from family members capturing moments from the wedding or giving the newlyweds advice for five years in, ten years in, and so forth.

Living in the moment is all well, and good, but my friends and I have to rely on random photos popping up on our Facebook feeds from 2007, because someone liked a photo by accident. It warms me up every time I’m reminded of a status, a comment, or a photo. Seeing my old interactions with my friends just reminds me how much I love them. If I’d be able to get blasts from the past from my college friends — as college friends now, though? I’d melt into a million pieces. It’s truly the only way to make college, and the way these people made you feel, last forever.
