This Is Not A Drill: Chipotle Just Released Its Guacamole Recipe And The World Is Officially A Better Place

Guac

“I know guac is extra.”

The phrase has haunted us. Literally. As young adults trying to budget our rent, wine addiction, and excessive Netflix habit, life is expensive. And shelling out close to $2 on some mashed up avocados? Yeah, that seems almost pointless.

Almost. Unfortunately for us, and our wallets, Chipotle guacamole might just be the best food ever. It’s great post-workout, pre-workout, sober, drunk, hungover, in bed, on the go, with Netflix, or with real, live friends. The only time it’s not great is when we pull out our wallets and try to not think about the fact that we’re spending precious money on a few ounces of crushed fruit (yeah, it’s a fruit).

That’s all about to change.

Chipotle, being the champion of all things fast food, decided to make the world (and our bank accounts) a much better place. They selflessly chose to release their guac recipe to the world. And now? Now we can make it ourselves. The recipe was posted to the website only hours ago, and already wallets around the world are feeling bigger, fuller, and much, much, happier.

I’m pretty sure the whole point of this is to show that Chipotle is fresh, clean, and will make better guac than our lazy asses will. Still, I have to give them props for pulling this total power move. And honestly? The cost of the ingredients alone will be more than the extra cash we’d shell out at the restaurant. But this way we’ll have way more guac and as we all know, the limit does not exist when it comes to the amount of guac you can have.

And as a true Chipotle lover, I’d like to declare today: National Guac Is No Longer Extra Day. It’s a day for the books. A day our children will be talking about for years to come. And a truly delicious day to be alive.
