This Study Figured Out How Often People Share Your Sexts And We All Need To Stop ASAP

I never really got into sexting. I think guys just get more into it than we do, because they’re way too easily turned on and we have the sexual composition of a Rubik’s cube. The few times I’ve tried it out were pretty pathetic, and I couldn’t get over the fact that these guys were on the verge of busting a nut while I was watching “The Office” in a face mask. It just didn’t do anything for me, so I gave up on the idea pretty quickly.

And now, I couldn’t be happier that it didn’t work out. The numbers have spoken, and they bear some pretty terrible news: a huge chunk of the sexts you’ve sent have been seen by someone other than the fuckboy you were drunk enough to send them to. The Kinsey Institute at Indiana University surveyed 5,805 single adults between the ages of 21 and 75, and found that 23 percent of them admitted to sharing sexts they received with more than three different friends. Three. Different. Friends.

The slight silver lining is that the study also figured that 73 percent of participants reported “discomfort” at the idea of sharing photos with other people. So there’s a 73 percent chance that the dude you’re doing the digital deed with won’t show his friends, but if he does, he’s still showing them to at least three third party strangers.

There’s a lesson to be learned here, people. If you’re going to send sexts, be really, really careful about who you choose to put on the receiving end. Or just make them so ridiculously laughable that he’ll be too embarrassed to show them to his pals.
