TKE At Towson University Suspended After Very Serious Hazing Incident

TKE

The Tau Kappa Epsilon chapter at Towson University is suspended pending an investigation by Towson, TKE, and the Baltimore County Police of an alleged hazing incident. The unidentified victim remains hospitalized after an incident last Thursday during a “pledge initiation event” when he was allegedly forced to eat cat food and drink a “substance” he was told was “vinegar and pickle juice.”

But the concoction may have actually been something toxic, given the damage that was done to his system. Family members spoke to WBAL about the incident saying, “he cannot eat anything as the substance he drank destroyed his tongue, esophagus, intestinal liner and stomach.” Meaning that this young man could possibly be damaged for life.

I’m hoping this was just some sort of horrible misunderstanding. To think that a chapter would encourage a brother, or potential brother, to take part in something like this is absolutely beyond me. We’re still waiting for news on what the verdict is and the chapter’s response, but in the meantime, we hope the guy makes a full recovery. As for Towson TKE, get your shit together guys.
