An Italian woman recently made headlines after she showed up to her local fire station asking for help to remove a lock. This lock wasn’t to a safe or a jewelry box. Behind this lock was something much more valuable: her vagina. The woman had a literal ironclad chastity belt around her waist.
I know what you’re thinking, and no, this isn’t the plot of a porn film. This really happened. The sixty year old unidentified woman says she “wore the belt voluntarily to prevent her from entering into sexual relationships.” Because apparently that’s something you have to worry about and protect yourself against in your sixties. She somehow lost the key (or maybe she just forgot where she hid it) and went to the fire station as a last resort.
I don’t know why she felt the need to don a chastity belt. There are much less radical ways to deter men from wanting to have sex with you. She could’ve just worn dark lipstick, or talked about marriage on the first date. Or maybe just say “thanks, but no thanks,” when he starts coming onto you.
Although stunned, the firefighters were able to remove the chastity belt and free the woman from her chastity belt. No word on whether she replaced it for one with a key or just left it off good. .
