Woman Throws Fake Wedding For Dying Dad

In a truly heartbreaking story, a daughter desperate to experience the traditional father-daughter dance throws a faux wedding reception for dying dad.

Twenty-five-year-old Rachel Wolf from Auburn, California has always been close with her dad and dreamed of the day that he would give her away to her new husband. Tragically, it looks as though Rachel Wolf’s dream may never come true. Wolf’s father, Dr. James Wolf, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. He is not expected to survive much longer.

Watching her father succumb to the disease, Rachel became incredibly saddened by the pivotal life moments that her father would miss. He would never see her marry; he would never meet his grandchildren. The thought of being without her father during these momentous occasions was too much for Ms. Wolf, and so she set out to do something about it.

Despite lacking a groom, Rachel decided that she would throw a fake wedding reception in order to experience the time-honored tradition of a father-daughter dance. While Dr. Wolf will sadly miss the day Rachel is a true bride, he was able to see his little girl in a wedding gown and to twirl her around the dance floor.

Neighbors and friends donated money for Rachel’s dress, the DJ, a limousine, a photographer, and a tux for Dr. Wolf. The two danced to “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman. Rachel is planning to show the video on the day of her real wedding. Thus, no matter what, her daddy will still be there on her special day.
