If you know anything about me, you know I’m obsessed with Pinterest. I have over 10,000 pins detailing my dream wedding, the foods that make me want to break my diet, and, of course, my ideal wardrobe. The great thing about Pinterest is that it’s like window shopping — I can add all of these earrings, camelhair coats and Loubs to my “so fetch” style board and know that if I had the money, I could one day dress like that. It’s more of a challenge to express the style I wish I had than to fill my physical closet, but that’s all about to change. Developers say that Pinterest will be adding a “Buy” button soon in an attempt to drain my measly bank account for all it’s worth.
This button could appear on your Pinterest page in only three to six months, so just in time to stock up on those floral cutoffs or scallop-trimmed bikinis at the top of your fashion board. With this feature, you will be able to buy straight from Pinterest without even being redirected to a company webpage. This is beyond insane to me. The ultimate digital mall, composed completely of clothes tailored specifically to me, has finally arrived. Who cares about flying cars? The future is here, people. Instead of adding heels to your virtual closet, you’ll be adding them to your physical one with just one click of a button. And what better reason to purchase something than to do it on a platform where 3,000 followers will be filled with jealousy over your newest addition? I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say this changes everything. Thanks to Pinterest, all of our wardrobes are about to change for the better — just don’t forget to have a brief moment of silence for your credit limit first..
