Did you look into a scholarship for your chapter? I think a lot of sororities have those, though I’m not sure how often someone actually gets one. If you have a scholarship to school I would think you’d have a shot. It’s sad that someone who loved it so much had to drop.
I think if you compare sororities based on the strength of their sisterhood, and not based on who wins Greek week more, or has the most mixers, you’ll often find that the ‘bottom tier’ is at the top. I love my bottom tier sorority and know for a fact I would not be happy in another house.
I understand that this is not nearly as bad as many hazing stories we hear, and I don’t know the context of the video, but it still seems like hazing to me. Not major, but still. Forcing them to do any type of physical activity is hazing at my school and I’m sure most others. Some questions I would ask:
Did they call out girls who weren’t doing pushups? Embarrass ones who weren’t as fit as others? What was he point of this guy lecturing them in the first place?
I don’t think the school should majorly punish the sorority, but if they have a definition of hazing with physical activity then they should enforce it.
But can’t we admit that there IS a stereotype of sororities outside of Greek life? It might be BS to us, but to non-Greeks it’s very real. Just look at all the recent flack received for that Alabama recruitment video.
I get pictures and glitter and dancing show you have fun and all that – but PNMs already know that. We want to see the personality of the girls in the sorority. I wish there were more clips of the girls actually talking about the sorority!

They better show this at her wedding.

Love this caption
I’m guessing you didn’t go to med school.
Isn’t this exactly the stereotype of sorority girls we want to get rid of?
