@Holley_princess That actually, is false. Like @Beautyschooldropout said, people think that they have to wash their hair everyday because if they don’t it gets greasy. This is true, but only because they do wash it every day. When you wash your hair you strip away all of the oils, good and bad. So the next day it will produce oils to replenish what you stripped away by washing. You can transition your hair to fewer days between washing but yes, you will have some greasy days during that transition (s/o to dry shampoo for those!) until your hair and scalp become accustomed to not being washed every day. Your scalp will produce those oils more slowly so that you would not have excessively greasy hair on the day after you shower.
I know that some people say “my hair is so thin, I simply can’t do that!” However that too, is false. Their hair can be transitioned to producing less oil, just like the rest of us.

  • thefavoritelittle 8 years ago on Everything You Thought You Knew About Dress Code Is A Lie

Horrifyingly, some universities do have dress codes. Ultra conservative private christian Biola University in LA has a dress code that is modest and enforced. My best friend goes there and says that it’s really frustrating – they even have strict rules for workout attire – no sleeveless tops or tight spandex pants/shorts. She says they require so much clothing to work out, that it’s hardly worth it to go because it gets so unbearably hot, restrictive, and uncomfortable.

I feel the same way. Hazing is bad when it makes someone feel bad about themselves or inflicts serious bodily harm and or death. Hazing to give you pride in your letters and to make you work for what you want – how could that be bad? How is it bad to not have everything handed to you? My chapter is terrified of hazing allegations – a boy at our school died during a fraternity hazing ritual several years ago. That’s not the type of hazing that I want. But being required to go to events isn’t a bad thing, especially since we pay hundreds of dollars every year to be in the sorority. I wouldn’t mind hazing in the slightest so long as it was not overly demeaning/ harmful.

  • thefavoritelittle 9 years ago on How To Completely Own The Term "Basic Bitch" This Fall

Love this! I love my norts, my starbucks, I am 100% obsessed with my sorority and yes, I am obsessed with my big (she’s the coolest ever) and I have been called a basic bitch so many times. What’s wrong with liking things? Why can’t I choose to be my own person? If I want to like those things – who the hell cares? It’s not like it affects other people any, and I’m happy, so isn’t that all that matters?

  • thefavoritelittle 9 years ago on Mailbag: Will Being In A Sorority Give Me An Eating Disorder?

One of my sisters is recovering from Anorexia. Being in a sorority has actually helped her recovery. The love, the support, and the sisterhood have been so beneficial to her. We all love her so much and want the absolute best for her. Your sisters will bring so much positivity into your life and will support you through the worst of times and the best of times.
