Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream Is Now A Thing At Starbucks

Nice Move

If autumn were a person, it would be a sorority girl wearing Uggs and holding Starbucks. Fall is a basic season, and you know what? That’s part of what makes it fabulous. I actually like seeing all my friends’ Instas from the pumpkin patch, apple cider is delicious, and I’m convinced maroon and gold are my power colors. If that makes me basic, then fine, because I’m a lot happier with a PSL in one hand and my phone out and ready in the other to take a selfie of me in a blanket scarf. During autumn, when pumpkin-flavored everything pops up everywhere, Starbucks can always be counted on to deliver one of the tastiest versions in the pumpkin spice latte. It’s an autumn staple, and to add yet another point to the list of reasons to celebrate it, this season marks a huge milestone for the PSL.

The PSL was born in 2003, so in celebration of its 13th birthday this fall, Starbucks announced that from today until October 9th, all PSL’s come with pumpkin spice whipped cream. That’s right—autumn just got a little more basic.

The whipped cream, which comes in a lovely shade of light orange, is made with pumpkin, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. Sounds just as delicious as the drink it was made to sit on top of. You can also add it to any other drink you’d like, not just PSL’s, so if your salted caramel mocha seems like it would be yummy with some pumpkin whip, go ahead and go crazy. If that wasn’t already enough to send you running screaming to the Starbucks drive-thru, they’re also giving out adorable “HBD PSL” pins while supplies last. What are you waiting for? Look no further for your sugar rush for the next three days. Thanks for never letting us down, PSL. Oh, and happy birthday!

My favorite things are tiaras, compliments, and free drinks, which are becoming harder to come by the more I tend to show up at the bar in sweat pants. The proudest moment of my life so far has been landing an actual, paying job that allows me to Facebook stalk people for a living. I tweet about my mom way too often, who is constantly trying to remind me that I'm not nearly as cool as I think I am. Please send me funny stories to read at work here: shannon.laynee@yahoo.com
