Sure, we have our sisters, our fraternity boys, and countless friends, but when push comes to shove, we always have our one best friend. The one who’s been there through thick and thin and can make you laugh, cry, or feel better with just a look. “Two peas in a pod” doesn’t nearly begin to describe your friendship. Of course, you know that your friendship is strictly platonic, but here are some examples of why people might think you’re more than just friends.

1. Sharing and platonically cuddling in bed while watching a rom-com is not only normal, but extremely common.
2. You pretend to be lesbians at the bar to avoid unwanted suitors–there are a lot of ugly men out there.
3. When something big happens, you call her before any member of your family.
4. You may or may not have showered together at some point in time.
5. You actually can communicate with just a look.
6. You physically hurt when you are separated from her for an extended period of time.
7. You finish each others sandwiches and sentences.
8. She is the first person to like or favorite anything on social media.
9. There’s no point in trying to keep a secret from her, because you’re just going to tell her five minutes later.
10. You’ve seen her naked more than you’ve seen yourself naked.
11. Without even asking, she knows exactly what food or candy to purchase when you’re in a shitty mood.
12. You can ask her questions like, “What are pipe cleaners made for?” without her judging you too much.
13. You also know if the question is too stupid, she’ll probably announce it on social media–or at least to the rest of your friend group.
14. You’ve popped zits, smelled armpits, and done some unmentionable things for each other before.
15. When her heart breaks, your heart breaks.
16. You share EVERYTHING: deodorant, clothes, shampoo, bras. The limit does not exist.
17. You have your own language filled with code names, code words, and phrases that are not even close to English.
18. This all stems from the fact you don’t even have to make a coherent statement for her to understand what you mean.
19. You might as well share a phone because she already knows who you’re texting, why you’re texting them, and how to appropriately respond to them.
20. You actually cannot imagine life without her.
21. If you show up to a party without your best friend, people are legitimately concerned and confused, asking where she is and if she’s okay.
22. She is the most honest person in your life, but she also knows what to say and when to say it.
23. You’ve pretty much been adopted by her family, and vice versa.
24. You have long discussions about how you are the greatest people alive.
25. You have longer discussions on why you’re both still single.
26. You don’t even know what’s hers and what’s yours anymore.
27. If you fight, you’re over it faster than you can say, “Wait, why were we fighting again?”
28. You know her schedule better than your own.
29. Your favorite restaurant’s servers all assume you’re in a relationship.
30. If you want a bite of her food, she’ll feed it to you on her fork.
31. You keep each other updated on all bodily functions, for better or for worse.
32. Staying in with a pizza and a movie can be just as fun as going out when it’s just you two.
33. You’ve joked about giving up and just marrying each other, adopting a child, and hooking up with guys when needed.
34. You’ve given up on how much you owe each other–it’ll all even out eventually, anyway.
35. You know that no matter what happens, she’ll always be by your side.
