Two things all girls in general, but specifically sorority girls, love is fall and alcohol. It’s only natural to want to combine the two. But with so many fabulous fall drinks out there, how will you know which ones are worth it and when to drink them? Fear not, I took it upon myself to perform the market research for all of you and I’ve narrowed it down to the six best fall-themed mixed drinks and what situation they work best with.

Hard Cider Sangria

Ingredients
1 cup quartered and thinly sliced green, yellow and red apples
1 naval orange – quartered and thinly sliced
1 cup chilled apple juice
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
¼ cup apple brandy
22-ounce chilled hard apple cider
Ice
When you’ll drink it:
This simple recipe is the perfect drink for a casual fall afternoon. Crafting for your little? Desperately trying to avoid your responsibilities and drink away your problems? It’s just a fucking gorgeous fall afternoon and you decide you need some type of alcohol? This hard cider sangria is perfect for all of those occasions. Sangria is a sorority girl staple, so it’s only natural that a fall inspired sangria become a must-have as well.

Cranberry-Spice Cocktail

Ingredients
1 orange wedge
10 cranberries
2 1-inch pieces of crystallized minced ginger
2 ounces Aperol
1ounce Lillet Blanc
Ice
4 ounces hard cider
4 dashes of Cranberry-Anise Bitters
When you’ll drink it:
Full disclosure, this is a slightly more complicated drink to make. You have to muddle the oranges, cranberries, and ginger before adding the rest of the ingredients. However, for all the effort it takes, it’s 100 percent worth it. The fruit and ginger pair perfectly together for a great evening drink. My recommendation is to drink this with a festive autumn dinner and pretend you’re a ‘classy’ adult, even if it’s only just for the night.

Dark and Stormy

Ingredients
2 ounces dark rum
6 ounces ginger beer
Ice
When you’ll drink it:
As opposed to our last drink being somewhat complicated, this is the easiest drink on the list. Just mix the rum and ginger beer and drink like there is no tomorrow. This drink is great for pregame. Impress all your friends with a ‘new and fancy’ drink, even though it is just 2 ingredients, and switch it up from your usual vodka soda. This drink is fall festive without all the aggravation and more importantly, all the cost.

Spicy Blood Orange Margarita

Ingredients
4 ounces jalapeño-infused silver tequila
3 ounces blood orange juice
1 ounce lime juice
3 ounces Cointreau
When you’ll drink it:
As with everything that contains tequila, drink at your own risk. These are deadly, mainly because they taste so unbelievable amazing. You’ll be down four margaritas before you even realize just how much you drank and at that point, it’s too late. Drink these if you’re looking to blackout in a festive manner.

Hot Cider Toddy

Ingredients
1.5 ounces bonded Apple Jack
¼ ounces maple syrup
6 ounces hot apple cider
When you’ll drink it:
Remember that awesome Halloween TV guide? Well this is the drink to pair with every movie and show on there. If you’re looking for a chill night in with your friends, spiked cider is the way to go. You’ll get a nice happy-buzz, but you won’t have to worry about a hangover in the morning. Just sit back, relax, gossip, and appreciate all the fall themed television your heart can handle.

Spiked Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ingredients
1 Starbucks PSL
3 ounces Bourbon
When you’ll drink it:
This is the drink of the people. Or at the very least, the drink of the basic bitch. There is an actual recipe for a DIY pumpkin spice latte, but it looked long, annoying, and way too expensive to buy all the ingredients, so I took the easy way out. A spiked PSL is the perfect drink to start your early morning tailgate or intramural game off. The key to a peppy sorority girl early in the am is large quantity of coffee, while a key to a nice and peppy srat star in the morning is coffee and alcohol. Make this a staple for your fall mornings and you’ll find yourself dealing with other people’s stupidity more easily.

Fall.
