Nurse Accidentally Discloses Information About Duchess Kate, Found Dead

As radio talk show hosts often do, Mel Greig and Michael Christian of Sydney station 2Day FM dabbled in the art of prank phone calling for entertainment earlier this week. Most of the prank-calling scene I’ve witnessed on air is of the phone tap persuasion a la z100, or some other guy with a stupid name like “The Buffalo.” These two got ballsy and decided they’d call King Edward VII Hospital posing as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles to inquire about Duchess Kate. Jacintha Saldanha, a nurse caring for Kate, provided the two with an update on the status of her health. She was later pronounced dead, a block from the hospital. Her body was found at 4:35 this morning, and she was pronounced dead on arrival for “unexplained” reasons.

Apparently the pranksters are being harassed and condemned via Facebook and have agreed not to comment or return to their show for the time being. While I agree that their call was incredibly tacky, and unprofessional, I don’t understand how or why all fingers are being pointed at them, solely, for being morons. I am in literal shock that the only statements released from the Royal Palace are along the lines of a glorified “that sucks.”

If my memory serves me right, there was quite the conspiracy theory about Diana’s death, because the Queen didn’t like her. I’m not saying I think the Queen arranged for this Jacintha chick’s death, I’m just saying coincidences seem to occur whenever she gets pissed off. Foreigners, right?
