This Sunday, the entire world will watch as celebrities put on their best Oscar de la Renta gowns and walk the red carpet at the 85h annual Academy Awards. Seth McFarlane will attempt to host the awards show. It’s basically my favorite part of the year. It’s full of glamour and so many stuck-up, out of touch celebrities it makes me want to die. It is EVERYTHING.
Anyway, this year, Jennifer Lawrence is nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her part in The Silver Linings Playbook. Lawrence is no stranger to the awards show. She was nominated for an award for her work in Winter’s Bone in 2011. Due to her fame and impressive resume, it is easy to forget that Lawrence is only 22, which is insane. This also means that during her last awards season, Jen was only 20, and was technically not allowed to drink because of the “law” that mandates a “drinking age.” Apparently, even Hollywood enforces annoying, ridiculous laws, and they didn’t allow her to indulge in her favorite adult beverage the last time she was super nervous at the Academy Awards.
This year, however, our girl is much more excited about her nomination because she’ll have liquid courage on her side.
“I’m…really excited. I’ll be able to drink this time. I was only 20 [at the time of her last Oscar nomination], so hopefully I’ll be more comfortable. Or at least drunk,” Jennifer recently said in an interview with More! magazine.
Clearly, she’s a girl after my own heart. Not only will she be able to spend her Oscar night sitting at a table next to the oh-so sexy Bradley Cooper, but she’ll be guzzling wine like it’s water in anticipation of the announcing of the “Best Actress” Oscar.
Early polls are putting Jennifer as a top contender for the most prestigious award in Hollywood, as they’ve decided her performance was more deserving of the coveted Oscar than her fellow nominees.
I love the fact that Jen is just like the rest of us. She’s totally gorgeous, funny, talented, and obsessed with wine. I know that even in the most dire of circumstances or stressful of situations, there is nothing that calms the nerves better than a glass (or bottle) of vino.
