The world got its first glimpse of the royal baby just moments ago. Barely twenty-four hours after giving birth to a healthy baby boy, Kate Middleton introduced her son to members of the press who have been camped out in front of St. Mary’s Hospital in central London for days.
The baby boy, now the third in line for the British throne, was born at 4:24 pm on Monday. He is reported to have been a healthy 8 pounds, 6 ounces. If Kate’s appearance is any indication, it seems to have been a smooth delivery. Had Kate required (or opted for) a cesarean section, she would have been unable to stand or carry the baby a mere twenty-four hours after his birth.
The little boy, described as “marvelous” by Prince Charles and “absolutely beautiful” by Carole Middleton is headed to an apartment in Kensington Palace with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. As of right now, we still don’t have the name of the little man, whom we only know as His Royal Highness.
