I’ve done a lot of crazy shit to get out of doing homework, and by “crazy shit,” of course, I mean I’ve either copied it from someone else, or taken a zero. What can I say? I live on the edge. I’m way TSTC. In fact, I generally get angry with people who argue with professors about needing an extension on an assignment or how they really just need that A- even though they have an 89. If I were a professor, I’d probably deduct points from a person for asking for those things. You earn what you earn. An 89 is not an A- just because it would benefit you if it were.
Then, something just crazy enough comes along, and I find that I can actually respect it. Two Indiana University students, Jon and Matt, struck a deal with their professor. If they could raise enough money for a trip to Disney World, they’d be excused from their project, due February 20, that accounts for 30% of their grade. You read that right. Not only do they get out of the project, but they get a free trip to Disney.
They’ve currently only earned $11 out of $1000 on their Indiegogo Page. Personally, I’d hate to see what would happen if they’re completely unprepared for their presentation — well, I’d probably love to see it, but I’m a quarter German, so schadenfreude, ya know what I’m saying?
