The List Is In: The Top 30 Nursing Schools In America

Screen Shot 2014-04-29 at 5.04.28 PM
The nursing student and the sorority girl have long been akin to one another. Both types of college girls stay up late on weekdays and weekends alike. One studies her life away while the other works hard to plan any and every social event possible. Both gals binge, one on alcohol and the other on anatomy vocabulary. And both purge, whether it is into fraternity house toilets or onto biology exams. Both are strong, but only the strongest can handle the schedule of both a sorority girl and a nursing student. If you’re one of these lucky broads, time management is your middle name and saving lives is your game. No one can hold a candle to your unwavering devotion to others, whether it’s to your sister who just suffered through a breakup or to the man you just met recovering in the cardiac unit.

To honor those of you who put in the long hours during clinical rotations, spend countless nights in the library, and still somehow find time to have a social life, we listed the top nursing schools according to College Atlas for you. Congrats to all you fine ladies graduating from these top programs. Also, if any of you rising freshman out there are considering nursing and are still deciding which school to attend, this guide is for you, too!

College Atlas ranked the programs not just by academic achievement, but also by factors that actually matter in the real world such as cost, acceptance rates, and student body size. As the student debt crisis continues to worsen, the schools on this list seem to be quite the steals with their low, in-state tuition rates. Additionally, most schools on this list are in the top 10 percent for Board Exam passing rates, and every school on the list ranks above the top 30 percent in this category. The acceptance rates for most of the schools are great, too. The best part? They all have Greek communities, and they are located in big cities with opportunities to gain experience working in clinics and hospitals. Also, the pictures for each college look super pretty, and that’s definitely way important.
