This Graduation Speech Is Made Up Entirely Of Beyoncé Lyrics And It's Perfect

This is for them 20-somethings. Time really moves fast. It’s so crazy right now! I’m going outta my head. I’ve been drinking, I’ve been drinking, I’ve been thinking, I’ve been thinking. Such a funny thing for me to try to explain, these last four years.

I was here. I lived, I loved. I was here. I did, I’ve done everything that I wanted. And it was more than I thought it would be. I will leave my mark so everyone will know I was here. No I’m not an angel either, but at least I’m trying. I don’t care what they say, I don’t care if they talking tomorrow. I’d roll outta bed in the morning and throw on what I wanted and go. Drink beer with the guys and chase after girls. I’d kick it with who I wanted and I’d never get confronted for it. And no, I ain’t perfect – nobody walkin this Earth’s surface is.

This goes out to all my girls! When I talk to my friends so quietly, there’s something that I feel I need to say. I won’t let you go, I’ll be your friend. You’re irreplaceable. Even just for a day. It’s very seldom that you’re blessed to find your equal. I know my soul connected me to you. We spent those weeks together, they were not long enough. Doing what we like to do – our way. We woke up in the kitchen saying, “How the hell did this shit happen?” We laughed at the darkness, so scared that we lost it. When it’s time for me to leave, it’s so hard to say good-bye. Take you away from here, but there’s nothing between us but space and time.

But now it’s time go. It’s a sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare, everything you own in the box to the left. Lord knows that it would take another place, another time, another world, another life to make you want leave here. I know that this will hurt you, I know you’ll cry. But, I never really had a doubt how we’re smart enough to make these millions. I know it’s gonna take a little work. Don’t let ‘em push you around, you know what you like. They can’t break us down. Nothing’s perfect, but it’s worth it after fighting through my tears.

Now put your hands up! Help me raise a glass for the college grads!
