Maybe it’s because I’m all jacked up on caffeine from the Gilmore Girls takeover earlier this morning, but I’m super psyched about this new behind the scenes teaser trailer for Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life that just came out. If you slept in this morning, I’m incredibly jealous because I woke up at 6 a.m. to make sure I got a free cup of coffee from “Luke’s,” but you also missed out. Underneath the custom GG coffee sleeve were two surprises. The first was a line from the reboot series that said, “Everything in my life has something to do with coffee. I believe in a former life, I was coffee.” The quote was attributed to Lorelai, of course. The second surprise actually turned out to be a dud. There was a Snapcode, but when I tried to add it, it said it was invalid. Sad!
But let’s get back to the trailer. It features the cast reminiscing about their favorite memories from the show, what they’re looking forward to in the reboot, and what they think is so special about the show. (Answer: everything.)
“There are so many things that are my favorite about doing this show, but honestly just playing this character is my favorite part,” said Lauren Graham.
The clip also includes some classic Gilmore moments: the Life and Death Brigade jump, Kirk running naked past Luke and Lorelai kissing, and Richard and Emily’s wedding. All three of Rory’s boyfriends also make an appearance in the trailer, and let me tell you, Logan has not aged a day. (Dean has, but in the best possible way.)
“Their scripts are so intelligent, witty, and of course there’s the pace with their dialogue that’s like no other,” said Matt Czuchry.
This sneak peek doesn’t show any new footage, but that only raises more questions about the reboot. Most importantly, why is Logan wearing that silly outfit?
I need to know. Hurry up, November 25th. .
