A Definitive Ranking Of The Top 100 Emojis As Defined By Twitter

Top Emojis

If I had to guess what the most popular emojis were based on the circle I run with, it would be, like, 1 through 57 as the kissing heart emojis. The remainder would be some kind of combination of the “I hooked up last night” emoji (big eyes, small mouth), the engagement ring, the hearts for eyes, the princess, the wine, and the hair flip girl. They’re all useful, but that’s pretty much your standard “I have fallopian tubes” palate.

Matthew Rothenberg created a code to determine what the 100 most popular emojis on Twitter actually are, based on how many times people tweeted them this morning. Seeing as sorority girls spend 30 percent of their lives on social media, my favorites were all pretty close to the top. The most surprising and hilarious aspect of it all was the actual, real names of each emoji. I’ll never look at hair flip girl the same again.
