2014 saw big leaps all across the nation with many states taking huge steps forward for equality in same-sex marriages, and 2015 is bound to see the same. If last year was wrought with numerous new engagements, this year will have just as many fabulous weddings, and even I can’t say for sure that my body will be able to handle that much fabulous. For thousands of new couples now planning to tie the knot, where else do you go for that first step — for the ring people will judge on every form of social media — than to the store with the little blue boxes?
Tiffany & Co. just released a new engagement ad featuring a same-sex couple, letting all these couples know exactly where to locate the rings of their choice. It’s absolutely precious. This is the first time Tiffany has featured a same-sex couple in an ad, but it’s already a huge success. A Tiffany spokesperson said about the ad, “Nowadays, the road to marriage is no longer linear, and true love can happen more than once with love stories coming in a variety of forms.” If your heart hasn’t broken enough over the adorable factor of this photo shoot, let me make you reach for the tissues one more time: the stars aren’t models (what?) — they’re a real New York couple. Congratulations to this picture-perfect couple, but I can’t say I’m not a little bummed about these two being off the market. I guess it’s true what they say: “All the good ones are either taken or gay,” or in this case, both..
