There are three reasons to join a sorority. The first and most obvious is for friendship. This is what pretty much everyone joins a sorority looking for, and what everyone will get from it when they leave. But frankly, it makes you sound lame as shit to “need” a sorority for friendship, so we all have to sugarcoat it with a backup reason. Some people go the more reputable route and base their interests on the do-gooder shit: the philanthropy events, the polished, pristine reputations, the feeling of elitism (though they’d never admit they revel in being elite). The rest of us, let’s face it, are here to party. We call Greek life what it is — an avenue to drink enough to make our parents and doctors moderately to severely concerned and to meet dudes who we will drunkenly make out with for somewhere between one night and two years. Friendship. Status. Parties.

To put it lightly, Taylor’s rush process is not the only thing that’s dirty. Through sex scandals, bitchy cat fights, drug use, and — uhhh — mission trips, Taylor’s sisters will put your that-iest “that girl” to shame, and you will reap all the benefits. Whether it’s the uncomfortable “I’m so glad it’s not me” giggle, or the uproarious piss-yourself-funny belly laughter, you will not stop laughing through the entire book. A little outlandish compared to your typical sorority experience, Dirty Rush gets one thing undeniably right. Through it all, through the drama, through the drunken nights, through the good guys, the bad guys, and the “oh my God, I think that’s him. Hide me and get me the fuck out of here. How do my tits look?” guys, one thing remains true. College will bring you to some of the most amazing people and truest friends you’ll ever meet, and if you’re lucky enough to call those girls your sisters, you’re doing alright.
