Ariana Grande took to Twitter last night in a blatant rage against those who condemn her for being a boss ass bitch and taking pride in her music rather than her dating history. The singer recently broke things off with rapper Big Sean, and is now rumored to have a fling with One Direction singer Niall Horan. She denies any trace of a relationship with Niall, saying “A girl can be friends with someone with a dick and not hop on it.” So true. Sorta.
But Ariana doesn’t want her fans to focus on who she may or may not be dating. She explains why she’s so pissed about the constant questions surrounding her love life, and makes a point that women are more than their dating history. She includes some kickass quotes and stresses the importance of women as individuals, rather than links to men.

Whether or not you like her music, you have to respect the guts behind this kind of post. It must be hard to have every aspect of your relationship status dissected by everyone, and she’s right that it definitely happens more so to women than men. Good for her for taking a stance and clarifying who she is as a person and songwriter, rather than past or current girlfriend..
