Basics Are Making America Look Bad, Confusing Olympic Medal With Makeup

Do you ever accidentally mistake an invaluable piece of history for makeup? Because same. And as it turns out, the entire globe is right here along with us. Earlier this week, the official Olympic Instagram page posted this photo.

But instead of people commenting on the design or significance of the bronze medal, basics immediately freaked out about the one thing that is always on their minds – highlighter. That’s right. Bitches across the globe mistook the Olympic medal for a contour palette. After looking at it for a while, I actually found myself pages deep into Sephora’s website in a sad attempt to find a color similar to the gorgeous hue of the medal. The medal itself is allegedly simplistic in an homage to sustainability, but I’m still convinced that this was just a publicity stunt to gain media attention from makeup junkies. It worked.

Guess I’ll have to watch the Olympics to see who wins the perfect bronzer. I mean, bronze medal.
