Beauty Blogger Contours Her Face With Chocolate, Everyone Rolls Eyes, Watches Anyway

Chocolate contour

If you’re not into makeup, contouring and highlighting can seem like a daunting task. It’s confusing, expensive, and if done wrong, can look like you just rubbed dirt and chalk all over your face. Contouring with chocolate, however, sounds like something even the worst girly girl could get behind.

Beauty blogger Farah Dhukai recently uploaded a contour and highlight video to Instagram. No big deal, every beauty blogger (and wannabe beauty blogger) has done the same video. Except in Farah’s version, she’s not using products that would cost you an arm and a leg at Sephora — she’s using household items like yogurt, chocolate, and coffee. Watch the magic happen below.

HIGHLIGHT AND CONTOUR with NO MAKE UP!I like to call this my “highlight and contour” mask, but this is also called multi-masking- where you use different masks for different “concerns” on your face. The white “highlight” mask BRIGHTENS and LIGHTENS to reveal a beautiful GLOW The brown “contour” mask TIGHTENS both masks also hydrate the skin and exfoliate but more on that later HIGHLIGHT MASK: Rose Petals (you can use fresh or dried, I used dried and crushed them) Honey – A little less than 1tbsp Yogurt – 1 tbsp Apply to all the areas of your face that you want to brighten and “highlight” to get a natural glow CONTOUR MASK: Espresso/Coffee Brewed Grinds – 1tbsp Cacao Powder – Tbsp Honey – A little less than 1tbsp Apply to all the areas of your face that you want to tighten to “contour” to look naturally chiseled LET BOTH MASKS DRY COMPLETELY WASH OFF WITH LUKEWARM WATER in CIRCULAR MOTIONS to EXFOLIATE (careful near your eyes) PAT DRY BOOOOOOOM youll look naturally highlighted and contoured! “highlight” areas will look like theyre glowing and your “contoured” areas will feel tighttttttttttt and righttt DO THIS TWICE A WEEK! ‼️WHY THIS WORKS! #1 HIGHLIGHT MASK -Yogurt has lactic acid which exfoliates to reveal bright and tight fresh skin – it also prevents wrinkles so its perfect for the undereye. Its also full of B vitamins so it makes your skin glowing and plump and hydrated -Rose water also brightens and tones the skin and makes it smoooooth -Honey is full of anti-oxidants and is so hydrating so it makes your skin glow #2 CONTOUR MASK -Espresso/Coffee the caffeine pulls excess moisture from the skin, making it look more firm and tight. This is the MAIN ingredient which gives the contoured effect. NO SUBSTITUTIONS -Cacao powder is a natural sunscreen and helps improve skin complexion. Full of vitamin C, and fatty acids that keep your skin healthy *you can use each mask on their own OR you can use them how I did as a highlight and contour* these masks also smell good enough to eat -youll smell like youre baking a delicious cake on your face! Disclaimer: Do a test patch first!

So it’s more of a contour and highlight mask, but as you can see in the video, it does add a subtle shadow and glow to the skin. Farah makes two separate masks: one with yoghurt, honey, and rose petals and the other with espresso/coffee, honey, and cacao powder. You put the white mask in areas you want to highlight and the dark mask in areas you want to contour. Let them dry and then wash it off with lukewarm water, and voila, you have a subtle contour and highlight without a stitch of makeup on.

Farah explains why it works in her caption.

“Yoghurt has lactic acid which exfoliates to reveal bright and tight fresh skin. It also prevents wrinkles so it’s perfect for the undereye. It’s also full of B vitamins so it makes your skin glowing and plump and hydrated -Rose water also brightens and tones the skin and makes it smooth. Honey is full of antioxidants and is so hydrating so it makes your skin glow. Espresso/Coffee the caffeine pulls excess moisture from the skin, making it look more firm and tight. This is the MAIN ingredient which gives the contoured effect. Cacao powder is a natural sunscreen and helps improve skin complexion. Full of vitamin C, and fatty acids that keep your skin healthy.”

She suggests you do this mask twice a week to maintain that perfectly contoured and highlighted look without makeup, which is basically the dream.
