We all knew there was going to be a song about Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris’ breakup, right? From the moment the split was announced, we’ve been patiently waiting for Swifty to tell us all about it with a melody. But apparently, Taylor’s been so busy bopping all over the world as one half of HiddleSwift (vom) to pen her usual post-relationship tunes, so her ex took a page of our her book and beat her to it.
According to TMZ, Calvin will drop the new track today. It will be called “Olé” and is a collab with English singer John Newman. The real kicker? The song is allegedly written from Tom Hiddleston’s point of view, and makes it pretty clear that Calvin believes the two were canoodling before Swift and Harris broke up.
Among the lyrics:
“I see online that you begun to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend. Being attentive, continue to pretend …”
“You’ve hidden my name in your phone so you can call me to tell me you’ve been going through hell. Left him alone and you booked in a hotel.”
“Low key [A play on Hiddleston’s Thor character, Loki] you won’t tell none of your friends about me.”
Harris confirmed the new track will drop today via Twitter.
Of course, he didn’t say whether the lyrics are about his former relationship, but then again, he probably doesn’t have to. The words will speak for themselves. .
