Picture this. It’s your wedding day and you’re taking your wedding photos in a nice, picturesque prairie. The weather is gorgeous and everything seems perfect, but all of a sudden, the sky goes completely dark and storm clouds start to build. Then the clouds become a funnel. What do you do? Run for shelter, right?
Nahhhhh, you whip out your camera and keep taking pictures. Naturally. At least that’s what this Canadian couple from Saskatchewan did. When they saw the storm clouds forming, the photographer took full advantage of the situation and snapped pictures of the couple with the tornado in the background, giving these two crazy Canucks the ultimate photobomb.
Now, I pretty much abhor the word “photobomb” because it’s become so overused–I expect to hear it from every grotsky, little 13-year-old betch wearing an outfit straight out of the Lester’s catalog that I pass on the street. But in this case, it’s pretty worthy of the word.
Apparently, the Canadian Prairies have seen loads of tornadoes recently, but most of them have been in scarcely populated areas, so that’s good.
Colleen Niska, the lucky wedding photog, posted the pictures to her Facebook page with the caption:
“I’ve dreamed about a day like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could NOT wait to post these! Pretty sure this will only happen once in my lifetime!”
Whoa, calm down, sister. You’re not winning a fucking Pulitzer or anything for these–the couple’s a little out of focus anyway. Slow your role, Niska. Canadians are fucking crazy.
But still, these are pretty cool pics. I love the classic wedding poses, and also THERE’S A GIANT FUCKING TORNADO IN THE BACKGROUND. Beats the crap out of these wedding photos from Kansas back in 2012.
Wimpiest tornado I’ve ever SEEN. Also, seriously, why the cowboy hat? Dude looks like a poster child for abstinence.
